Eat Pray Love

When I get lonely these days, I think: So BE lonely, Liz. Learn your way around loneliness. Make a map of it. Sit with it, for once in your life. Welcome to the human experience. But never again use another person's body or emotions as a scratching post for your own unfulfilled yearnings.

It has been absolutely difficult to pick one quote from the book to share here. Such is the depth of the story woven in an autobiographical style having the captivation of a fiction. No wonder the book is adapted into a Hollywood blockbuster. The author’s frank and flawless detailing of her journey of self evolution is both refreshing and inspiring. It was so easy to follow the journey of the protagonist through three different countries while exploring the material indulgence, the spiritual path of meditation and eventually finding the balance between both ways of life.

I love the way the author captures and expresses the emotional state of Liz. It feels like an intimate journey with Liz where we get to witness her relationship with herself evolving through different phases of life.

My two take away from the book:

– The journey of self is a long one. transformation doesn’t happen in a moment.

– There are series of actions one take without indulging in the mind as to what will come out of it? You stay open to whatever may come and whichever way it leads you.
